Shadows Lie

sl.jpg
For music, videos and more pics go to: www.myspace.com/wheretheshadowslie - Rising from the NYC underground is SHADOWS LIE. Their music is a unique mix of Days of the New-style acoustic guitars, Portishead-like electronics and heavy-guitars reminiscent of Staind and Linkin Park built around a powerful singer whose vocal style ranges from Alanis Morissette, to Incubus. Their debut LP entitled “Echoes” is written, recorded, produced and performed by Kira and CT. The fusion of Kira’s lyrics and vocal melodies and CT’s guitar bass, programming and production work form the basis of a fresh sound that uniquely melds sonic strength with emotional truth and vulnerability.

Shadows Lie site among their diverse influences Incubus, Alice In Chains, Bjork the Crystal Method and Sevendust. The often times aggressive yet hauntingly beautiful music that results, invokes comparisons to fellow female fronted rock bands Evanescence and Lacuna Coil.

Live and for music to come, they are joined by Marco Britti on drums and Frank Grullon on guitars. “Echoes” is now available at iTunes and: CDFREEDOM.COM/SHADOWSLIE.

Gotham Rocks

gothamrocks.jpg
GOTHAM ROCKS is a New York City based modern rock showcase series that features the best local NYC bands as well as some amazing and as-of-yet under the radar independent touring bands from all over the Northeast and Mid atlantic regions.

Sponsors and Partners for the Gotham Rocks Showcase Series include: Marshall, Korg, Spector, Godin, DR Strings, Revolver Magazine, Musicsubmit.com, Six Flags Great Adventure, Reverbnation.com, 89.5FM WSOU, Budweiser and San Miguel Beer.

The goals of GOTHAM ROCKS are:

To pair indie music companies, bookers, promoters, radio, labels etc with the absolute best in independent local and regional bands.

To give NYC rock bands who are ready to make the transition from local to regional touring band the opportunity to meet and team up with bands from other parts of the country.

To foster and coalesce the growth of the modern and hard rock scene in NYC – a town that is more known for its hipster and indie rock and hip hop and yet has a thriving (if unorganized) hard rock scene.

To provide all of the bands with a quality forum for them to showcase their talents to both fans and industry simultaneously. Creating opportunities for both independent bands and the companies, venues, labels etc that work with them. For more info, go to: www.myspace.com/gothamrocks OR: www.gothamrocks.net

Karmacycle

For music videos and pics go to: www.myspace.com/karmacyclerocks

Karmacycle was busy in 2002-2003 creating their first recording effort, “Scared”. The next two years were spent promoting the album and honing their live show by playing Northeastern colleges, festivals and club venues. In 2005 they finished their EP titled “Save Yourself”.

They worked with Producer/Engineer Bill Klatt (Days of the New) and NYC producer Cary Tamura (Shadows Lie, Grayzone, Heidi Fly), this collaboration demonstrates a more mature sound; sonically, they found their niche. “Journals of a Jaded World” was not a departure from, but rather an evolution of their strengths. Guitarist Stephen Sannicandro knows the band’s forte: “You can expect certain elements from a Karmacycle track: strong melody, intricate drum phrasing, dynamic guitar arrangements and a grooving bass.” The new songs also emphasized singer Luke Ambrose’s vocal prowess and sentient lyrics. His voice often cries out in empathy and anger, making a strong emotional connection with fans.

Last August, they showcased with BMR; the evening’s Master of Ceremonies was K-ROC’s own Julie Slater. The band has been featured on websites such as Kings of A&R, Myspace, Friendster and Gargageband. They have played some of Manhattan’s most popular festivals: MEANY FEST, The Nokia Core Tour, and Emergenza.
